The WURFL Java API and WALL tag-library have been designed, created
and documented by me, Luca Passani.
The first mention goes to the
Openwave Systems
for allowing me to work on this project. I can safely claim
that Openwave is the main contributor to the project economically.
This is good, but not surprising, since Openwave has an history of
providing developers with tools for wireless development
free of charge. Check out out cool
developer site to download the WAP SDK and a lot of good stuff.
In addition, I would like to mention a few people who have been
really helpful to me during the creation of the Java API
and WALL tag-library.
First off, my friend and colleague Ron Mandel in California, for:
- validating my initial design of the WALL library
- performing some tests with actual devices to validate
the actual rendering of WALL pages
- reviewing the tutorial and reference guide
My friend and fellow wireless-development survivor Andrea
Trasatti in Milan, Italy, for:
- turning up WURFL updates as fast as I needed them to
support WALL
- being available 24x7 to review and validate ideas
- helping with tests of specific devices (Italian imode in particular)
Zev Blut and Darren Lucket for their imode field
reports from Japan and for sharing their knowledge and ideas.
Richard Milewski (California), Jose Luis Narbona (Spain),
David Johanson (Sweden), Raphael Ramirez (France) for reporting
about WALL behavior on devices from remote regions.
Tom Hume (UK), Michael Kaye (UK) for speaking their mind
and actual doing some tests.
Thank you, guys!
Luca Passani
