Many people have contributed to the WURFL project. Here they come.
Luca Passani
- Luca Passani (passani at
eunet dot no)
Role: Luca had the original WURFL idea.
He is the WURFL architect and all the main decisions about how to organize the
WURFL data come from him. Most notably, Luca came up with
the fall_back mechanism which allows new devices to 'inherit'
the capabilities of its predecessors and just override what
is shown to be different.
Luca also designed and implemented the WURFL Java API and the WALL tag-library.
Company:http://www.admob.com
Luca is based in Rome, Italy.
Contributors
- Andrea Trasatti (atrasatti at users dot sourceforge dot net)
Role: Andrea has found (and verified) the great majority
of the devices accounted for in the WURFL
In addition to that, Andrea has been the WURFL maintainer
until June 2007, which means that he spent a lot of time
updating the WURFL repository on a daily basis
by collecting and organizing data from different sources.
In addition to device spotting, Andrea also developed PHP support
for WURFL and deployed those apps in commercial environments
(which goes a long way in demonstrating how good the concept is).
